The question I am looking to research into would be “How AI is going to be working in the media and other creative works to influence what people believe?”. A large example in the recent media would be how large publishers have been reporting a lot on aviation incidents since the DC air to air collision and the general aviation crash in Philadelphia. Obviously TikTok isn’t much a “credible” source for this matter but a quick look into a comment section on a media post reporting an aviation incident its easy to see that people are in fear about flying currently despite the statistics showing that incidents are happening less often than last year.
Some potential sources I could use for this will be “New Laws of Robotics” from Pasquale and Weizenbaums “Computer Power and Human Judgement. These are both sources that talk about the ethical uses of AI and how they emulate the human brain so I can use them to talk about the ethics of media companies using AI to follow trends that will increase their viewership like covering aviation incidents after a major crash.
