It’s no secret that Lamar Jackson is one of the best in his field. His NFL resume includes being the youngest to win MVP, a Pro Bowl selection, youngest quarterback to start a playoff game, and so many more significant achievements. Jackson has led the Baltimore Ravens to a 2-1 start, after putting on three highly entertaining games for NFL fans.
Although Baltimore did lose one game (in overtime to a wildly impressive Raiders team), the Ravens were able to rally together and pull through some close late-game scoring to beat the Chiefs and Lions in the two following weeks. The Lions win fell more on the hands of Ravens kicker, Justin Tucker, who was able to kick a career long (and now NFL record) 66 yard field goal in the final seconds of the game to give the Ravens the win. However, the kick wouldn’t have been made possible without Jackson’s clutch 36-yard throw with just 26 seconds left on the clock.
The Ravens/Chiefs game displayed two of the best quarterbacks in today’s game, but Jackson may have made a pretty solid case for why he should be ranked above Mahomes. In the fourth quarter, Jackson scored two touchdowns that were enough to give Baltimore the win. Baltimore is currently tied for first in their division, while Kansas City (the 2019 season Super Bowl champions) is in last.
Three games in a row Lamar Jackson has shown NFL fans why he deserves another MVP award. And honestly, a Super Bowl ring as well. This season should be entertaining to say the least, and we can hope to expect even more out of the young quarterback.
