Dallas’ Recent Struggles

In the Cowboys’ last four games, they have gone 1-3. Just when everyone was really starting to have hope for them, they seemed to falter. On Thursday, America’s Team will face off against the 5-6 New Orleans Saints in the Big Easy in hopes of getting back on track.

Cowboys HC Mike McCarthy has just tested positive for COVID-19, and is reported to miss Thursday’s game. McCarthy’s absence shouldn’t affect the Cowboys too much, considering the great coaching staff around him that can easily step in and coach the team to another win.

RB Ezekiel Elliott has been rumored to possibly sitting out of the upcoming game, to rest his injured knee. Luckily for the Cowboys, they are expected to see the return of three of their most valuable players next week — Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb, and DeMarcus Lawrence.

Part of the loss to Las Vegas could be blamed on the absence of such key players — and Cowboys fans pray that’s all it really is. Dallas still leads the NFC East by two wins, and their upcoming games are almost all divisional games against opponents with a losing record.

At this point, Dallas has nearly clinched the division. They are the betting favorites to be the first team this season to do so, and should consider looking more to the post season games than the ones right in front of them. Once Dak and his offense can get back on track, the rest of the leauge should be a little more concerned when the Cowboys try to bring back their sixth Super Bowl trophy.
