The NFL is Becoming Too Inconsistent With Calls.

Many fans (and players alike) have voiced their feelings about the NFL’s recent manners of rule enforcement. Players are receiving hefty fines for minimal infractions and poor officiating can affect the outcome of an entire game. The fines and punishments aren’t even consistent with the rules broken — Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb faced two fines for having his jersey untucked (totaling over $20,000) while Packers QB Aaron Rodgers lied about his vaccination status all season and only paid around $14,000. Lamb has faced 5 separate fines this season, and its only his second season in the leauge.

Above is all of Lamb’s fines during the course of the 2021 NFL season.

The NFL has been dealing with complaints about celebration/taunting penalties for years now. They are labeled as “unsportsmanlike”, but many fans and players believe that by taking them away, it takes away from the game in general. Players want to celebrate their touchdowns without being penalized for it.

Perhaps the NFL is being too inconsistent with their fine enforcement, and in that case needs to reevaluate the rules in general. Players want to have fun when they are playing the game they love — not be punished for ridiculous reasons that don’t affect the game.
