There’s a reason as to why I can’t take my friends out to public places. I don’t mean it in like a bad way or that I’m embarrassed by them. They just can’t control what they say most of the time. There was this one time back September where myself, Manny, and Alan went to get sushi before their Smash Bros tournament. It was a while since I’ve seen them so we were catching up to pass time. Eventually, we began to be drawn to the news that was playing on the tv. If I remember correctly, a local church had a food drive to fight back against hunger that was happening around the area. It was a nice moment of silence until my friend Manny said, ”Damn, hunger got hands.” Since that day, I’ve been telling this story to my other friends or use it as a way to introduce how my friends are. That day was something I won’t ever forget. That stupid comment hasn’t left my mind and I still laugh to this day thinking about it.

“Hunger got hands” would be an alternative title—but you don’t want to give away the best line….Ahilynn, you remember partly because it’s a profound comment, right? I don’t think it’s stupid at all: what it does is take one of those dead pieces of language we all use all the time (“the fight against bla bla bla”) and brings it back to life…
