The question that drives my interest in media the most is “how do media professionals cater to specific target audiences through platforms on the internet and through daily interactions?” For quite some time, I have been interested in media and advertising and how they work hand in hand to give people what they may want or need through channels such as social media and the world wide web. I hope to learn more about how presenting people with different forms of media can affect their own interactions, choices, and lives.
I am also interested in finding out the back ends of media and how it works behind the scenes. For instance, how data is collected in order to cater to specific people at certain times. I want to learn about why certain forms of media are better for audiences, for instance why cartoons commercials are catered more towards children. From that, I want to know exactly how to advertise to those audiences.
There are many factors that drive my interest in media, but I am very interested in the advertising side of things. How and why listeners and audiences are driven to purchase, watch, or consume media are my main questions and goals.
