Nick Carraway is the narrator of the book. He sees everything through his eyes and through his personality. So we can see a lot more of what his traits are and how he thinks. One example of this is that Nick is a romantic. A part of the story starts to reveal this when Nick talks about Gatsby. He says, “…it was an extraordinary gift for hope, a romantic readiness such as I have never found in any other person and which it is not likely I shall ever find again” (Fitzgerald 1). He also shows signs of being an introvert. When going to the parties he is most of the time seen wanting to go find a spot where he can sit by himself because he doesn’t know very many people. He also says on the very first page of the book that he tries not to judge people. Whether you believe that or not is up to your own idea of the character in the book but that is what he thinks of himself. Nick is what I would say how a normal person acts in most cases with his own deviation in personality to make him his own person.
