2015-2016
BRT competed in the altitude, payload, and budget categories of the Central U.S. Rocketry Tournament (CURT). The team also successfully completed its largest independent project to date: Big Red. The rocket flew as designed and was recovered safely at the September 3rd AIRFest Launch in Argonia, KS.
2014-2015
BRT took 2nd place in the Battle of the Rockets, Mars Rover competition in Spring of 2015. Our rocket housed a rover also built in house. The rocket flew over 1000 feet before ejecting the rover. Both landed safely and independently. After landing, the rover cut its parachute and performed a series of autonomous tasks.
2013-2014
BRT took 2nd place in the Battle of the Rockets, Altitude Competition in the spring of 2014. In this competition, all teams were allowed to use the same strength motor.
2012-2013
BRT took 1st place in the Mini-Mag Drag Racing competition hosted by High Frontier in the fall of 2013 by focusing on an optimal thrust to weight ratio and constructing our rocket for low drag. In this competition, all rockets were launched at the same time and the first rocket off the launch rails won.
