My personal statement on the American Dream:
I believe that most people have the freedom and individual ability to pursue their dreams. As for what is known as the American Dream, I believe that it is oftentimes misinterpreted. Most, not all, believe that the American Dream means that anyone can succeed in their own way in America as long as they put in the work. Everyone’s view of success is going to be different, which means that everyone’s American Dream is going to be different. That said, upward mobility in most aspects require hard work. The misinterpretation of the American Dream comes from how much work one has to put in. Some are born into families with property, business, oil, and asset rights that put them in an advantageous position regarding finances, resources, and other important aspects. Others, like outlined many times throughout history, have to work their way up from the literal bottom to achieve their dreams.
