Lemongrab & Lemonwhite are two characters that emerged from the same set of DNA and act as doubles of one another. Due to their identical genetic makeup, one might expect these characters to act the same- however, they do not. They act as direct contrast for one another; Lemongrab possesses no empathy and is extremely self-centered and thus was rejected from the land he was originally from. Lemonwhite, on the other hand, was made for Lemongrab by a different character because Lemongrab was lonely. Lemonwhite develops empathy over time, and ultimately ends up playing an instrumental role in defeating Lemongrab in a future episode. They had different lived experiences, which resulted in them acting very different from one another. Lemongrab was an extremely cruel ruler, perhaps without even realizing his cruelty; when he is hungry, he steals food off of the plates of his subjects, and they go hungry. Lemonwhite on the other hand will notice when this happens and share his food with the subject that has none. Originally, their opposing perspectives kept the kingdom they developed in balance, but this was ultimately negated after Lemongrab ate Lemonwhite. These characters display a duality between identical twins and showcase how environment and experiences plays a large role in how personality develops. Thus, Lemongrab and Lemonwhite provide a perspective on not only how doubles may encounter and interact with one another in a shared space, but also demonstrate how lived experiences affect the personalities of each double.
