Dr. Mintler

As I reflect on Papers 1 and 2 there are a few things I would change. Overall, I like my topics for all of the papers, but honestly paper 1 was a bit of a disaster for me and I hadn’t written in so long, I feel like I didn’t know what I was doing. I think my topic was insightful for me as I was writing the paper and putting it together because it got me thinking about the American Dream and Wealth.

Paper 2, I really enjoyed writing this paper. It gave me time to analyze and understand the women of the novel. Though reading BLF did allow me to understand them more, the part about putting it into writing was good for my thought process of it all. I think my writing definitely improved since paper 1 as I kind of had an idea of how to lay out the paper and what all was needed.

The research paper was my favorite to write just because I think I was more interested in the topic. Though I was so interested I think that’s why it took me the longest because I just wrote it all down and forgot of formatting and the flow of the paper. I had to go back and rework my paragraphs basically, but I think it did allow for the most evolution of my writing out of all of the papers I have written in this class. I hope my feelings of this paper are reflected in the paper.

Part 2:

If I had something to tell me at the beginning of class, it would be to rewrite paper 1 better and rework it. As well as to not be so lazy at the beginning. I don’t think I was that lazy, but I needed to be more prepared for the workload of this class. Though I enjoyed the class and the activities, it was more than I expected, so I would tell past me to be prepared.

In this class, I think my last essay really resonated with me the most just because of the topic. Though reading BLFs did pique my interest a lot because of the different perspective it brought out for me. I’d say these two affected me most because of the change in thinking it prompted in me.

I think this course is already very interesting and a good amount of challenging for students. I don’t think there is anything to add to the course.

I have discovered more of my writing style and topics I am better at writing about. Before this class I had never really thought of a “writing self” for myself, I am glad to have found that or discovered my “writing self” because I think it will help me in organizing my future essays.

This course has taught my student self how to manage a bit better with class workloads. So far through college, this has had the most workload kind of or at least frequent assignments which has taught me management more and I’ve found a spot at the library I really like that helps me to focus on my classwork. As a student this class while challenging has benefited me in find study or organizational techniques.

I have evolved my writing process by knowing kind of steps in writing and revision and maybe add, and rework, then revise again. Before this class honestly, I hadn’t really revised much for papers.

From this class I will take away organizational skills and new thoughts on TGG or even of personas/ the way people behave. This class has prompter lots of thinking, and I will take away new perspectives from this course. I have also met some good friends through the course.
