Parking at the University of Oklahoma

As a student at the University of Oklahoma we often question what can be changed for the better around campus. About 75% of the students on campus would tell you that the next thing that needs to change is the parking situation. With only 2 student garages and a couple lots it isn’t feasible to the growing classes the University is taking in. With the class of 2027 being the biggest in Sooner history, there has been more uproar than ever to fix parking around campus, with lots of clamor around possibly knocking down one of the tower buildings and making it a garage. A freshman on campus, Micah Stafford, recognized this problem early on into the school year and called for change. He posted a change.org petition to try and replace one of the parks on campus, with a parking garage for students (Petition · Replace Burr Park with a Parking Garage to Alleviate Campus Parking Issues · Change.org). So far, this petition has 97 signatures, all of which being students on campus. It isn’t a lot, but it’s a start. With your help we can make campus parking more accessible and a lot less stressful. Let’s make change!
