I am Madelyn Reid Metzler, someone that takes interest in stories, as they show the world from ones perspective. I am from different parts of Okahoma, noticing details in each that have shaped me. I am a freshman at the University of Oklahoma for Public Relations, as my sister did, focusing on what drives consumerism. I helped raise my brother, considering our five year gap. My family members helped me through the hardest part of my life. I was recently stuck by a car, on campus, in a crosswalk on Jenkins Ave. My femur was broken as I lay in the middle of the road, the anger keeping me in a shield from the pain. I healed at home for two months at home and I am now back, postponing my return to Jenkins Ave.
Blogging Identity: I see the blogging world through the eyes of a chatter who’s beyond curious to learn more about AI. I wonder how it’ll change my day to day, the defence industry, and communication going forward. I will be posting about my day-to-day curiosity and what I learn throughout it all! This will be a personal blog as I return to campus after my accident. I will be commenting on my classes, my physical therapy, and social life!
I’m excited to read more of your posts to come, I think you have a really interesting perspective as someone who is returning to campus, I would imagine with a different experience than before (glad you’re doing ok!), someone with insight into the defense industry, and as a curious person in general. I relate to helping raise a younger sibling, mine is 5 1/2 years younger and it freaks me out she’s about to be in high school.
Hi Madelyn! I recall our recent conversation outside the classroom with pleasure. I’ll add that the observation you make here about anger overriding pain is precise and lends real power to your depiction of that moment.
