I am a Research Scientist II at the Cooperative Institute for Severe and High-Impact Weather Research and Operations (CIWRO) and NOAA National Severe Storms Laboratory (NSSL) in Norman, Oklahoma. I work in NSSL’s Warn-on-Forecast (WoF) research and development group, and I am on the Modeling Team in NSSL’s Forecast Research and Development Division (FRDD). My current research focuses on improving both data assimilation and modeling techniques and methods within the WoF system (WoFS) to provide better probabilistic guidance of severe weather. More information about my current research and other research interests can be found on my Research page.

My interest in weather began at a young age, so even before attending high school, I already knew I wanted to be a meteorologist. I earned my B.S. degree in Meteorology from Valparaiso University in 2009. I then attended graduate school at the University of Oklahoma’s School of Meteorology, where I earned my M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Meteorology in 2011 and 2016, respectively.

Outside of my career, I am happily married to my wife, Stephanie, and we have two wonderful children, Hadley and Elliott. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, photography, coffee, chasing storms, astronomy, hiking, camping, woodworking, and playing sports.
