Often, women and people with a uterus are told they cannot ”kill an innocent child” when given the choice of an abortion or carrying a child to full-term. This idea of patriarchal decisions over women isn’t anything new, but within the new age of technology and the growing movement towards differences in gender roles over the years, why can’t women make the decision about their body? Within the last few years, more and more men are embracing a more feminine look and outward appearance without repercussions. Yet, it seems like the moment women say “i want the right to choose”, society loses their shit. In more recent events, Texas passed a law saying that an abortion past 6 weeks is illegal, yet most women don’t know they’re pregnant by 6 weeks. Women should have the right to have an abortion and men should not tell us we cannot. We deserve bodily autonomy and the right to choose. The quality of life is not guaranteed, women have the right to maternal rights, and not every child may be viable. The fight for our rights has been a long fight, but unfortunately it’s not over. It’s Our Body, Our Choice.
I completely agree on our body, our choice, however, I’m not sure exactly what you would like to see changed, is it just more of a guarantee of the rights that women have, or would you like to see something like the new Texas abortion law go away?
Yes, while I do personally believe women should have the right on choosing what to do with their bodies, I’m not entirely sure as to what going against gender roles have to do with a biological view, one would say. Do gender roles play a massive role on a woman’s right to their body? What changes would you like to see happen as more law on restricting abortion submerg?
