With just a few weeks remaining in the semester, it is important to find your groove again. Regardless of personality, work ethic, or lifestyle, getting back to your routine can be challenging. Here are some quick tips presented by OU Fit + Rec that can provide extra comfort as you move toward the end of the semester.
- Check Your Calendar – Whether it be a legit calendar, agenda, or to-do list, it is best to start your return by seeing what needs to get done. Take this time to update your schedule, find what’s new, and begin setting your plan for the week, month, or semester.
- Look Back to Before the Break – Getting back into a routine can be especially difficult unless you look back to the schoolwork you did before the break. Looking back on your schoolwork gives your mind a refresh on the topics and subjects you studied before the break so that by the time you’re in class, you can stay caught up.
- Get Ahead – Start these last few weeks off on a good note by getting ahead of your work. Although it may not be the most fun or easy way to get back into a routine, this allows you to have extra time for yourself. Getting ahead of your schedule lets you feel less stressed, worried, or nervous for the rest of the semester.
- Take Care of Yourself – Regardless of the amount of work or things you need to do, it is vital to make sure you are healthy and happy. Get enough sleep, eat the correct amount of food per day, go on a walk, or go to the gym. You can do endless amounts of things to ensure you and your mental health are in the best state.
- Make an Effort and Make It Count – Whether it be going to the gym, getting ahead of your work, or even just going to class, make an effort to get up and do the things you need to do. These last few weeks of the semester will blow by. Try your best to get your grades to where you want them and get your own personal being to where you want.
Although spring break was fun and memory filled, it’s time to be the person you want to be and get back into your routine. Always remember that you’re the one who dictates the outcome of the semester. Do your best, but also know that you’re a person first. Best of luck, Oklahoma! Boomer!
