Myrtle Wilson is an interesting character that we tend to see in The Great Gatsby and seems like she will do anything to leave her economic class. As we can tell in the novel Myrtle becomes Tom Buchanan mistress to try to grow in social class and reach closer to the American dream which is one of the huge symbolisms in the novel. We see Myrtle as a low-class woman who wants to live this glamorous lifestyle that her alone cannot achieve. We see her get with Tom, which she instantly accepts all the gifts he offers her and leaves her place to go with him when she can.
Looking at all this I can sort of connect her to a real-life person which would be Jordyn Woods. You may wonder why I chose her well if you take her into consideration, she basically used the Kardashians to climb the social class ladder like on how Myrtle did. If you consider how their relationships are also is interesting because Jordyn Woods decided to back stab Khloe Kardashian by dating her man like the way that Myrtle did to Daisy by deciding to get with Tom. There are just some similarities between them like the way Tom gifted things to Myrtle like how Kylie gifted many things to Jordyn, looking at all this they used many people to climb the social ladder while many can label them to be gold diggers. In the end after everything they both did end up being brought down, we see Myrtle unfortunately dies by getting hit by a car vs Jordyn being outcasted of the Kardashian/Jenner circle and being forgotten by many till this day.
