Those tiny words written on the pieces of paper printed and bound together may seem like any other word you see in day to day life, but the authors wording can leave the most beautiful impact on a person. Personally for me I think that a book has the power to change someones lifestyle and life in general. My most recent read, It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover, a book that covers topics like abuse and abusive, toxic relationships has left me with a whole new perspective on relationships and left me in tears. To preface, I was not a huge reader before I read this book, but from the minute I read the first words, I couldn’t put the book down. In fact, I read the entire book in one day. I felt every emotion jump at me with each turn of the page. The words are so raw and honest, that I felt like I was experiencing the hurt or joy personally. When the first wave of low of the rollercoaster this book takes you on hit, I felt my heart drop and I watched the page become damp as if it was my pain and sadness. I personally related to the main character Lily, because she too believed, that if the time came where she was being hit or abused, she would leave after the initial fight. As the book progresses you along with Lily learn that it isn’t as simple as walking out the door. You truly feel like you are Lily and every decision she makes is yours. It helps show every side to a relationship, it was so good and heavy at some points, that I caught myself wanting her to stay, because maybe he did love her and he did want to be a better person. I also took away the knowledge of the difference between being loved and being in loved. I learned just how easy it is to give love without realizing that the love you are receiving in return is so much less then you deserve. I learned that our mistakes aren not what makes us bad people, it is how we respond and react. This book receives a 10/10 from me!
