CCAMPIS: Child Care Access Means Parents in School Grant Information

Purpose
The Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) grant is a federal program of the U.S. Department of Education that assists parents with the cost of keeping their children enrolled in quality childcare centers/schools.
Award amounts will reduce the monthly childcare tuition payments of qualifying student parents. These subsidies are funded by the federal CCAMPIS Grant. Grant recipients are required to pay the remaining portion of their children’s tuition not paid by the grant. Awards are granted for the academic year, contingent upon the status of student eligibility and available funding. Summer term is applied for separately, contingent on grant funding availability.
Eligibility Information
- At least one parent must be an undergraduate student at the University of Oklahoma (OU) enrolled full-time for a degree or certificate program at OU Norman or OU Tulsa. OUHSC Students do not qualify. The parent must also be making satisfactory progress at OU (GPA of 2.0 or higher). GPA and grades are checked by the CCAMPIS program coordinator at the end of each semester
- Have a child or children ranging in age from before birth-5th grade
- Parent (including an expecting parent) or legal guardian of a child/ children enrolled in the Institute of Child Development at OU (ICD, on-campus early care and education program) or other types of licensed or accredited group care or camp
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
- The student parent must be receiving or eligible to receive the Federal Pell Grant
- The student parent must be low-income. For the purpose of this award, low-income will be determined by the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) Income Eligibility Guidelines
- Students receiving other grant assistance may or may not still be eligible for CCAMPIS. In this instance, work with the CCAMPIS Program Manager to determine eligibility
- A student who majors in education will have a priority
Notes
Participants under the following condition may be eligible when there are unfilled openings.
- A graduate student parent who fits the appropriate criteria
- An additional child of the eligible student parent
- A part-time student
Required Documents or Permissions
Complete the CCAMPIS Child Care Access Tuition Assistance Application found on this website at top of page and email it to happyouproject@ou.edu. Once received, you will receive a confirmation email from the Project.
- Permission to obtain verification (FERPA Release) of your need for financial assistance as determined through FAFSA. Please provide this permission through the application provided.
- CCAMPIS Application completed in it’s entirety. You will be contacted if information is missing from your application.
- If Military connected, please include Military documents to support connection; Military ID or DD214.
- Electronic or Handwritten signature on the application to certify that all of the information submitted is true and understand that any deliberate misrepresentation may result in the immediate termination of the CCAMPIS Child Care Access Tuition Assistance award.

Confidentiality Information that student-parents provide about their personal finances on the CCAMPIS Child Care Access Tuition Assistance Application will be kept strictly confidential.
Award Periods
All awards will be given out for the academic year, and separately in the summer. Awards are contingent upon student status and available funding.
