OU HPIA Lab

Welcome to the OU High Performance Interior Architecture Laboratory (HPIA Lab). We are an interdisciplinary research team with a background in the architecture, interior design, and urban design fields housed at the Gibbs College of Architecture at the University of Oklahoma. The lab research spans over interior architecture, building science, and advanced building technology. We aim to constantly design high-performance building interiors to provide comfort and well-being for occupants with ultimate energy efficiency through developing conceptual frameworks, conducting modeling and simulations, performing optimizations, and applying advanced analytic techniques.

OU HPIA Lab’s Mission

Our mission is to advance the field of interior architecture through innovative research and development of high-performance building technologies. We strive to enhance human comfort and health, promote energy efficiency, and contribute to sustainable building practices.
