i realized that i have never really posted about what interests me and why i am here at ou and what i am doing…
so i am here studying at college of international studies in the russian and east european studies program. i was recently chosen as a romanoff center for russian studies scholarship recipient and this is very important recognition for me. that makes me feel that i am doing the right things and i have chosen the right path. i believe that there are many more opportunities awaiting, but this one just came at times when i was feeling lost in my choices, questioning my decisions and whether i really love what i am going to do.
i also was concerned whether my degree will earn me enough money to not only survive but live and travel and i decided that i would add a second one, so now i am also a management of information systems major. this is something i always loved and wanted to do but was stopped by my conservative father saying that tech stuff is not for girls, but i actually believe that being a woman is more of an empowerment than a curse, so i am going to do what i find right without letting anyone change my way because it is not right for some reason.
i dream of being able to fly to alaska, to see the people of ninilchik, to immerse myself in their language and try my best to preserve it, note it down in small detail. i want to see this language being given a second chance to live, put an effort for it to survive.
i want to see russian culture thriving and being more popular around the world and i want to see russians being able to say where they are coming from without the shade of shame there is now and i want people to remember that everyone is different and you shouldn’t judge a nation by one representative.
i hope ai will do good for humanity and each and every one of us will learn how to use it responsibly and we will also create inventions and technologies supported by ai.
