The stars were out, and so were what looked like what might be the future faces of the sport of boxing. Familiar names for some and many legacies were defined on October 23rd at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
Antoine Cobb, in his professional boxing debut, defeated Jerrion Campbell with a big right cross in the first round.
Evan Holyfield from Atlanta, Georgia, and one of the sons of the great Evander Holyfield recorded a spectacular combination knockout on Charles Stanford to secure his sixth knockout and keep his perfect 8-0 pro record.
Nico Ali Walsh, the grandson of literally the greatest in boxing Muhammad Ali, had his second professional boxing bout against James Westley II. Nico won by third-round TKO after Westley’s corner threw in the towel after seeing Nico land a straight right cross on Westley’s chin, dropping him for the second time in the fight and forcing his corner to save him.
Another upcoming prospect Xander Zayas who is only 19 from Puerto Rico, got an RTD on Dan Karpency in his ESPN television debut to improve his record to 11-0, eight being by knockout.
And of course, the main event between the former champion Jamel Herring and new and still undefeated Shakur Stevenson, who improves to 17-0 with a tenth-round TKO to become the WBO junior lightweight champion at 24.
