This summer’s soccer transfer window for 2021 has been one the most bizarre of recent years. The major two being of course Lionel Messi leaving his longtime club Barcelona to join Paris Saint-Germain, while Cristiano Ronaldo left Juventus for a return to Manchester United.
Messi joining Paris Saint-Germain meant he gets to return with his teammate from Barcelona, Neymar, and Argentina international teammate Ángel Di María. So far in four games, Messi has just one goal. That being in his most recent game against Manchester City where Paris Saint-Germain won 2-0.
Ronaldo joining meant a return back to Old Trafford, as well as reuniting with his Portuguese international teammate Bruno Fernandes. His start so far has been stuff you write in books: five games, five goals. His most recent being a stoppage-time 95th-minute goal to defeat Villarreal 2-1.
