‘Sitting in Solidarity’ seating display commemorates Pan Am Flight 103 victims

Alyssa Grzesiowski sat in seat 29D, just a few seats away from Matthew Sala. Grzesiowski, who represents Louise Ann “Luann” Rogers, said that she felt especially connected to Sala, who represents Turhan Ergin. Syracuse University Remembrance Scholars took their seats on the Quad at noon for 35 minutes, honoring the 35 students killed in the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland. For these 3 ROTC cadets, Remembrance Scholarship heightens their sense of purpose

For three Remembrance Scholars, looking back and acting forward plays a special role in their lives as they connect ROTC to Pan Am Flight 103. SU chooses 35 seniors each year as Remembrance Scholars to represent the 35 students killed by the attack, an act of terrorism that led to the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 which crashed in Lockerbie, Scotland.
