Christmas with Disney

When I was more or less around 10 years old I would watch Disney channel. This was at the peak of Disney channel when there were the shows: Jesse, Good Luck Charlie, Ant Farm, Girl Meets World, and so many others. Disney channel was the thing to watch, and whenever a holiday came around it was special.

When you think of Disney, so many things can come to mind like Disney World or Disneyland, as well as the many movies they have produced with different genres. But, Disney channel should also be recognized. I would always love it when Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas cam around because Disney would make their entire channel that holiday’s theme for so long. And by that I mean they would not only play certain songs, but they would create news ones, make new commercials, and even make every new show that came out that holiday’s theme. They would even collaborate with other shows, this was also a highlight as a kid.

Something about the air of 2012 just made every kid excited for anything on TV. One commercial example of this exciting time was the Fa-La-La-Lidays.

They didn’t just do this for Christmas. Every kid who watched Disney channel when the show Ant Farm created the song ‘Calling All the Monsters‘ remembers exactly where they were, how they were feeling, and possibly how many times they watched it. And it’s not just the songs they created or the commercials, the shows were so creative each time, nothing was repeated.

Disney wasn’t the only company that had this idea. Nickelodeon also did this. I was a Nick and Disney channel kid, but Disney was the thing that game me peace. I grew up on all the cartoon Disney movies, and Disney channel would play these movies on Friday or Saturday nights. So Nickelodeon couldn’t really compete with that.
