Hello! My name is Kayden Anderson, and I am a first-year journalism student. I am originally from Vian, Oklahoma, a small lake town. Although my time at OU has been short, I have found my place in Gaylord’s Dean’s Leadership Class and Pi Beta Phi. These various pursuits will prepare me for a fulfilling career in fashion journalism, writing for a magazine or online articles.

My “Why”

As previously mentioned, I grew up in rural eastern Oklahoma. The 1,000 residents shaped my identity like the nearby Tenkiller’s waves. Generations of my family have lived there, including my grandmother, who had a master’s degree in English. Indeed, her influence of words trickled from my father to me. That tremendous passion, coupled with my mother’s eye for fashion, have led me to this class. Overall, I am proud of where I came from and even more excited about where I am going.
