The Student Union at the University of Oklahoma is a place where students can go to eat, work, study at anytime. However, there is a major flaw in the system at the Union. Prior to 2pm, the restaurants in the Union use meal points instead of meal swipes. This may seem insignificant, but seeing as you are only allotted a certain amount of points for an entire semester, this eats away at your precious spending money around campus. Paying with swipes is much more convenient for students as they are renewed every Sunday. Why would OU attempt to take from our spending money instead of taking from a renewable resource such as meal swipes? I don’t know the answer, but I do know that it does not please me.

I find myself at the Student Union from time to time, but my roommates eat there every Tuesday and Thursday. Unfortunately for them, they often get there too early to pay with their food with swipes. They are forced to sit and watch as the line at Chic-Fil-A grows and grows whilst they wait for the clock to hit 2pm. this has even made one of my roommates late to their class on one occasion. Unbelievable and shocking that the Union wants to stunt our academic habits like that! This is written satirically of course, but this issue does torment my mind anytime I visit the Union before they allow me to use my meal swipes.
