A campaign that I think exemplifies what the ideal advertisement looks like is Nike’s “Dream Crazier” campaign. The ad is about women athletes’ accomplishments and how they are considered crazy for wanting to compete. The ad features female athletes who have broken barriers such as Chloe Kim, Ibtihaj Muhammad, and the narrator herself- Serena Williams.

The reason this ad personally touched me is because as a female student-athlete myself, it perfectly describes how it feels to be seen as hysterical, delusional, or crazy. This advertisement made me feel emotional and understood by women who have gone through the same thing. The ads message is that everyone called these women crazy for wanting to break records and barriers, and it was crazy- until they did it.
