Being born into a family with a last name that is already tarnished does not depict what you are as well as the labels that are pre-established before your existance do not defy you. For example, within the movie The Rise Of Skywalker, Rey, who is the main character throughout the film, begins to doubt if she is truly a good person, especially after the discovery of the truth of her heritage. She struggles with coming to terms with being realted to her grandfather who is Emperor Palpatine. Palpatine was a strong leader who was apart of the dark side of the force and created war and conflict. Rey wants to have no ties to that part of her family and follows the path of a Jedi, which is the light side of the force. She struggles with coming to terms with being related to that family name.

One of her greatest fears is following within the foot steps of her grandfather and joining the dark side of the force. While she was exploring the remains of a battleship that had crashed, she experiences a vision and is faced with her alternate self, what she is afraid of. This alternte self taunts Rey and attempts to convence her to embrace her Palpatine name and tells her she should not be afraid of who she is. Rey is ashamed of her lineage and completely taken by the fear that her own actions would result in the dark side dominating her, causing her to become like her grandfather.
Although her alternate self does have a good point in saying she should not be afraid of who she is, however being related to a family of chaos and destruction does not make you a product of such evil. There is a line within the film that explains this perfectly, “some things are stronger than blood”.
