Have you ever thought of vampires as being uncanny? Have you ever wondered why they were considered a part of horror? Well, I am here to tell you why and how they are deemed such.
Vampires on their own fit into the theory of uncanny. An exact model of a human like resemblance that hold no true human traits at all. Vampires are cold to the touch, immortal, have emotions that they can control like a light switch, and have supernatural abilities. A supernatural occurrence that is also created by nature. Vampires carry a mystery behind them that makes one wonder if they are even real. The possibility of there being a blood sucking immortal with the resemblance of a human is unlikely, in my opinion, but never zero. The change in vampires, when they are presented on television, shows vampires as a completely different double than their human selves once they have transitioned.

An alternate self that has been tainted by the emotionless and burden of a hunger for blood. Could being immortal be considered haunting because of the forever existence that humans don’t understand. An immortal life is unheard of and can be considered an eerie experience of loneliness and depression. Watching as your entire generation ages and dies while being replaced by another generation of humans. Life would eventually become a simulation. Why do humans romanticize vampires and demonize them. Why do we want to make a monster that has a hunger for humans also a romance story? Is becoming a vampire scarier than being sucked by one?
