What thunder fans have most to look for in stock for the upcoming season is the development of their young core. They have been very busy with acquiring all this talent from the last few years and now it is time to see what they can do. The players I expect to have a big jump in their game for the upcoming season are:

  • Josh Giddey
  • Shai Gilgeous-Alexzander
  • Ousmane Dieng

Josh Giddey: Coming off of his rookie season, he looks to improve more of his scoring capabilities as he was not just the best playmaker in the draft, but the best playmaker in the league. I believe that he will average around 14 points per game with around eight assist and eight rebounds a game.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexzander: One of the most promising young guards who you can count every night to give you at least 20 points on solid efficiency. I predict that he will take the leap to a first-time all star 26 points per game on better efficiency from last year.

Ousmane Dieng: He was traded to the Thunder from the Knicks on draft night for three first round picks that were heavily protected. The 6 foot 10 forward is going to be a project, but one I predict could definitely become a corner stone to the franchise.

I expect the team to finish with around the 35-40 wins this season and could be a surprise play-in team for the 2022-2023 season.
