One of the first things that I did when I arrived at the University of Oklahoma, is I looked for some kind of organization that I could join. Luckily, I already had something in mind with the OU Daily.
My journey to the OU Daily began in the middle of my senior year of high school. My school was taking a trip to the University of Oklahoma as we were here for OSM (Oklahoma Scholastic Media) with many other schools as we all gathered to celebrate our work throughout in Journalism. One of the many things that we did throughout the day were secessions with professors here at OU and even some tours for certain programs and the campus itself.
One of the tours that took my interest was touring the OU Daily. All I knew about the OU Daily before coming to OU that day was that they were a student ran organization.
When we started the tour I fell in love immediately with the program as everyone was so friendly and easy to talk to. At the end of the tour I met with one of the Head Editors of the OU Daily and asked if I came to OU for my college career, if there would be anyway that I could get the opportunity to be on the Daily and he didn’t hesitate to say yes.
Now today I have multiple stories posted on the Volleyball team and am looking forward to what the Daily has in store for me the 2023 Spring semester.
