I have always been captivated by the ability to reach a specific audience through media channels. Through my journey in media class, I hope to understand how to cater my message to specific audiences through different types of channels, and further understand which specific mediums I should use to reach my intended audience.

I am hoping to understand how to use the critical media process to remove my personal bias in situations – sometimes, my perspective shines through in situations where I need to be unbiased and objective, and I am hopeful that I can learn to negate this. I believe the critical process can allow me to be more literate in my perception of media and that I can learn to truly understand what it is to be objective.

Music specifically influences me, so I would love to analyze different forms of songs to find the deeper meaning hidden within them, whether that include background knowledge on the album or the artist.

I hope to find out what truly draws an audience to a specific form of media – is it up to personal taste, or are there deeper motives at play? How are we able to ensure that our intended audience receives our message in the way that we hope to portray it?

These are only some of the questions I have regarding media, and I am hopeful that my time in college will allow me to pursue the answers to these questions.
