My name is Lindsay Moynihan and I study public relations and psychology at the University of Oklahoma. I specialize in offering creative solutions and communication with the public. I am also a strong advocate for the importance of teamwork, and I often find myself working with diverse groups of people to further formulate my worldview.
My qualifications include knowledge of AP style, grammar, event planning, design and writing for different publics. I am always looking to gain experience in the PR world, and I love to gather knowledge through hands-on learning experiences with different clients. Additionally, I have experience planning events and making infographics for the extracurriculars I am in, including improv and the school’s a cappella group. These infographics can be found on my website.
One of my favorite aspects of PR is crafting content to fit different publics’ needs. I believe it is vital to fully know your audience before you formulate a message, and researching different publics is something I have always enjoyed. Additionally, I love planning events that I believe will engage members of the community with the organizations that I am involved in. Driving engagement is paramount to drive awareness and I believe planning different events helps audiences to become knowledgeable about the different causes I support.
I chose to study PR because I love to write for different audiences and I also enjoy public speaking. Planning creative solutions to complex issues has always motivated me and I have always seen myself as a leader in group settings. Additionally, I feel that PR challenges me to break from my comfort zone of solely writing scholarly research papers or creative, fictional pieces. I wanted to learn how to write for diverse audiences, and PR has given me the tools to break out of my comfort zone.
Having the ability to reach out to diverse audiences has always motivated me in the PR world. I have also been inspired by the sense of camaraderie found between the members of different PR agencies and firms. I believe that PR is built heavily on building and maintaining relationships with clients and audiences, and it is extremely important for me to make every individual I interact with feel heard and appreciated. The sense of relationships found in the PR field has definitely motivated me because of my drive to make all individuals I interact with feel safe and respected.
Outside of PR, I am involved in many different organizations and clubs on campus. My passion outside of my major is opera, and I am a part of the University Chorale as well as Dr. Zielinski’s Singing Sooners. Additionally, I am the co-director of OUI, The University of Oklahoma’s Obviously Unrehearsed Improv troupe. I also am a member on the PR Committee of Campus Activities Council’s Sooner Scandals program. To pair with my love of choir, I am a current soprano in the Crimson Chords, the University’s a cappella group. Lastly, I work as a cashier at the local Torchy’s Tacos where I spend my days interacting with customers and making their dining dreams reality. Outside of all these extracurriculars, I enjoy reading, writing, watching movies, spending time with my boyfriend and friends (including gaming, shopping, going out to eat, etc.) and talking with my family. I also love to stay active and try to go to the gym a few times a week with my boyfriend.

Spending time with my family is one of the most important aspects of my life because it gives me balance in my hectic, eventful world.
I hope that this little glimpse into my world has been helpful! This semester looks to be a tricky one, but I know that with time and effort, everything is possible.
