Autumn is my favorite season of the year for many reasons. I love feeling the weather change every day. Fall brings some of my favorite fashion to the light – layering a turtleneck with a cropped shirt while still being able to wear shorts is my favorite statement to make.
On the other hand, autumn brings forward some not-so-nice feelings. Seasonal depression is quite real, and autumn brings out some of the worst of it. It’s not unusual for me to feel like I am longing for something that I cannot have in the autumn. I have never figured out what it is I’m longing for, but I still feel the sense of yearning as the weather gets colder.
My friends and I always make fun plans during the autumn season – from pumpkin patches to haunted houses, we keep ourselves busy.
As October is nearing its end, I realize that the first semester of college is coming to a close. How have I accomplished so much in such a short time?
I made a playlist that reminds me of the way autumn feels. To me, autumn is the duality of a warm hug and a punch to the gut. Be warned – the playlist does contain some explicit songs, but the feeling of autumn does come out.
