Lion City

I keep talking about my music journey here at OU. I love talking about a lot of Soon Hee Newbold who is the composer that I adore. I love her music because she gives an orchestra a chance to the melody of any means. I am a viola player and getting to be heard a lot is amazing to be given a chance. One of my dream places in Singapore, specifically, is Lion City. I love the city and how it’s so beautiful. The culture is so blessed with anything.

I love talking about Singapore any day, and would love to visit there one day.

Please listen to Lion City while reading About the Music.

About the Music:

Chinese, Malay, Indian, and Western cultures make the unique and inspiring country of Singapore. Its history dates far to the 11th century, but it was in the 13th century that a Sumatran prince gave this small island the name Singa Pura, or Lion City because of a creature he believed to be a lion walking on its shore.

The prime location has made Singapore popular for trade and military bases since the 1800s. Owned by the British occupied by the Japanese, and once a part of Malaysia, Singapore gained its independence as a republic in 1965 and has 4 official languages: English, Malay, Mandarin, and Tamil. Singapore is also referred to as one of the Four Asian Tigers because of its economic growth and rapid industrialization. Located near the equator, the weather is mainly hot and humid, and the landscape was once a rainforest before it became a major city.

Lion City is reflective of the many cultures that make up Singapore.

I would give my parts that I play a 10/10!! The best song Newbold has ever composed.
