Fire Dance

Fire that’s closest kept burns most of all.” – William Shakespeare

Fire Dance” by Soon Hee Newbold has got to be one of the best songs that I’ve ever played. I was supposed to play it my senior year, but because of the pandemic, I couldn’t. I love the theme of the song and making the song come alive. I love anything Soon Hee Newbold. For those who are new, I talk about a lot of the works that she has ever composed. From “Mythos“, “Arabian Dreams“, “Egyptian Legacy“, “A Pirate’s Legend“, etc. just to name a few. I love how in this song she brings out a lot of themes of the element of fire. Many will think of the zodiacs specifically Leos, Aries, and Sagittariuses. In this case, I’m just talking about fire as a nature call in general. I love Fire Dance because it just makes the song come alive.

Please listen to Fire Dance while reading About the Music.

About the Music:

Since the beginning of time, man has used fire for survival, technological, advances, and ceremonies. The Polynesians dance with sticks of fire in exciting luaus; Bulgarians have a traditional barefoot dance on hot, glowing embers; and other cultures use fire in spiritual rituals and celebrations. As a destructive force, fire is deadly and unpredictable as it takes on a life of its own.
