OU Harp Studio Recital

April 10, 2022

I went to an OU Harp Studio Recital that was under the direction of Dr. Gaye LeBlanc Germain. She is so good to her students, and one of the students playing in the harp studio recital was Ciara Mariano.

Me and Ciara knew each other from an all-region orchestra that we both did in high school. She went to Macarthur, however, I went to Lawton High. She played a song called Esperance. We are both from the same hometown, Lawton, Oklahoma. She is an amazing harpist, and an amazing human to ever be around. She is amazing at what she does. She is a sophomore double majoring in Harp performance, and Health and Exercise Science. She is the one that asked me if I can play for her next year. I said of course!! I love the memories that we made together, and she is one of the few people to tell me to not give up on music. I haven’t played in almost a year, and so that gave me a chance to play again. Me and her are both going to do a song called, Sicilienne. I play viola, but I’ve been practicing a lot on violin during my time here at OU. So, I will be playing on violin next year for Sicilienne.

Before the recital, she texted me on Snapchat and was saying that she is super nervous. I said Don’t be! You got this! You’re a star all the way!

After her recital, she was at ease with herself, and I was so happy that I got to see her play beautifully. At the recital, I would give it a 10/10!!! The best one yet!!
