So I went an Open Mic that the Write Club was having. Me and a good friend of mine, Ty went with me to support me. I wanted to do it so badly, and I love to storytell a lot. I wanted to present my blog post that caught the attention of Dean Walker, my intro to media professor. She presented the blog post in the class, and asked me about it. She loved the blog post, and I was like, “if I wanted to publish this post as a short story?” I even told myself, “what if I wanted to become an author, or change my major to Professional Writing?” Don’t get me wrong, I love to write any blog any day. I would rather just be a spokesperson than to write.
So me and Ty went to Open Mic at Second Wing Coffeehouse on Campus Corner. I was so excited about it, and looking for where to sign-up. I was second to go, and I presented my blog post, “19“. Everyone was supportive of me presenting, and one of the people Laiba Fatima loved me presenting tonight. She was so moved by it, and it was also her last time hosting Open Mic. She is a senior here at OU, and is graduating this year. She even followed me on Instagram, and I loved how she was engaging with everyone. I love Open Mic, and I will present more in the future. Other than that, a wonderful experience to remember!!
