Eclipse

One song that I did in high school was titled Eclipse. I loved the song so much that it gave the viola section power. It felt very forceful when it came to the piece. In Eclipse, there is a part where the viola gets the solo, and every section has the solo as well. I love the song itself, and the composer is Joshua Reznicow. I also played in my Gig Book that I had in high school. One of the best songs that I’ve ever played.

Please listen to Eclipse while reading About the Music.

About the Music:

This exciting work does wonders with the full spectrum of sounds available to string orchestras; spiccato, col legno (with the stick), harmonics, tremolo, and more.  And these effects are there to serve the musical idea, which is an exciting minor mode theme reminiscent of a movie soundtrack.  This is one piece your orchestra will ask to play again and again.
