(SPOILERS AHEAD, DON’T READ UNLESS YOU’VE SEEN THE FOSTERS)
“DNA doesn’t make a family, love does.” – Lena Adams Foster
There are a lot of TV shows that I loved watching growing up. From: YOU on Netflix, Euphoria, Avatar the Last Airbender to name a few. One of the TV shows that I loved watching when I was a teenager was Freeform’s, The Fosters.
I loved the show because it was all about family. The show dealt with today’s issues that are going on in America. For example, ICE, adoption, etc. I loved all of the actors in the show, Teri Polo, Jake T. Austin, Maia Mitchell, etc. The show ran for five years, from 2013 to 2018. One of the actors I adored in the series was Hayden Byerly. He portrayed Jude Adams Foster. He was 12 when the show started and 17 when it ended. I loved his character and how he developed over the seasons. I also loved the relationships/friendships that he made.
One of the friendships/relationships that I loved was Connor Stevens and him. Connor’s actor was Gavin Macintosh, a guest star that would appear then and there. I loved all of the moments that both characters had. Also, they were in a relationship, and everyone in the fanbase called the couple, Jonnor. The couple made television history when they shared their first on-screen kiss in “Now Hear This,” season two, episode 18. They were the youngest same-sex kiss to ever air on national television at thirteen years old (character-wise). The reaction to the kiss was mixed-reviewed with positive reviews from audience members.
Other than them, I loved all of the characters very much, and one of the quotes, Lena Adams Foster, another character from the series, said, “It’s not where you come from, it’s where you belong.”
