“The man who seeks to please God is the man who people are pleased with. The man who seeks to please others won’t satisfy anyone.” – Edwin Louis Cole
Ariana Grande wrote a song called pov. I love this song because it sounds like a love song, but in my opinion just talks about talking about that person. Specifically, how people see that individual. pov is off her sixth studio album titled, Positions. Anyways to shift gears.
All of my life, I’ve been the person to always be the people-pleaser growing up. Now, that high school is over, I’ve looked at all of the years where I was like, “dang I really can’t make everyone happy.” But you know what I ain’t complaining at all if people like me at all. If someone doesn’t like me at all who cares? I’m the person that is so comfortable in my own skin, and doesn’t care who talks down on me. They could say whatever they want to say, I won’t be bothered by it. It didn’t hit until I got here to OU where the environment was non-judgmental. Where I’m from is everyone knows everyones business. I was thinking, “I didn’t want anyone to be worried who I am at all.” At the end of the day, it’s all about me, and me only. No other opinions will matter, it’s all about me. It’s my time to shine.
