The 25 Personality types

Back when the power went out on a december night on campus, a friend of mine and I went to the Canes on campus corner and talked Frozen the Movie. We spoke about the movie and its themes and as a consequence, we created a new system of personality and its archetypes, they are as follows.

The 25Good OutcomeNeutral OutcomeChaotic OutcomeBad OutcomeEvil Outcome
Lawful IntentionNobleArbiterVigilanteAnarchistTyrant
Good IntentionAltruisticBenevolentVisionaryFailureFool
Passive IntentionIdealistMediatorCatalystConsequentialManipulator
Chaotic IntentionUnstable HeroUnpredictableTroublemakerRebelDestroyer
Evil IntentionBenefactorOpportunistInstigatorSchemerMalicious
I would say the average person falls into the arbiter archetype, whereas I believe I fall under the Visionary archetype.

Lawful intention means that an individual is acting in accordance with anything that is not their own internal moral or psychological code.
Good intention means that an individual is acting within the best interest of everyone around them regardless of their own self-interests.Passive intention means that an individual is acting in accordance with their own self interest or moral code.Chaotic intention means that an individual is acting in accordance with what they belief to be best, regardless of its acceptability.Evil intention means that an individual is acting with the intention of harming others.
Good outcomes occur when most individuals involved benefit from the situation.Neutral outcomes occur when there is no lasting impact on anyone involved.Chaotic outcomes occur when a situation becomes complicated but without any meaningBad outcomes occur when a situation harms someone without malicious intent.Evil outcomes occur when an individual acts with intent to cause malice and causes harm to others.

How does it relate to my story? It’s no secret that I’ve been writing a story for close to 8 years now, here is how each character falls onto the scale:

Thunder (Act I): falls under Anarchist, Thunder (Act II) falls under Unpredictable, Thunder (Act III) falls under Manipulator, and finally Thunder (Act IV) falls under Instigator. Puengi (Act I, II) falls under Benevolent, Puengi (Act III) falls under Anarchist, and finally Puengi (Act IV) falls under Visionary (don’t quote me on that). Praxis (Act I&III) falls under Instigator, Praxis is absent in Act II, Praxis (Act IV) falls into Malicious. Jackson (Act I) falls under Noble, the Celestials story for act II is not finished so I cannot provide archetypes for any of them. Jackson (Act III) falls into Arbiter, Jackson is not in Act IV in a meaningful way. Jason (Act I) falls under failure, Dango (Act II. Justin (Act I) falls into Mediator, Justin (Act III) falls under Consequential, and finally Justin (Act IV) falls under Tyrant. Susan (Act I) falls under Unstable hero, Susan (Act III) falls under Failure, Susan is absent in Act IV. Urlim (Act II) falls under Tyrant, Urilm (Act III) falls under Arbiter.

Every now and again I will update this with some characters from Pop culture.

Anna (Frozen)-Consequential

Elsa (Frozen)- Failure

Hans (Frozen)- Opportunist

  1. Mark: I’m not sure how, exactly, shifts in intention lead to shifts in outcome. Characters can shift personality types, but they can also achieve different outcomes while remaining the same type of personality?

(But I have never seen FROZEN all the way through, so….other commentors! FROZEN superfans! We need you in here…..or, fans of personality typologies?

I think a shift in intention can absolutely lead to a shift in outcome, for example, let’s say I approach a job interview with the intent to cause malice, I am acting as a Manipulator, but if I approach the interview with the intent to make both the interviewer and myself feel better about ourselves, I am acting as a Idealist. In both instances I am assuming I have my own self-interest at heart, but how I approach the interaction absolutely can dictate how I am perceived, which is a major component of the 25. As for Frozen specifically, When I finish my blog post, we can have that discussion over there.
