Spring Break 2023

My Spring break was very relaxing, and I got a lot of work done. I went to Atlanta to hang out with some family. In Atlanta, I worked on my paper for intro to media class. The paper is about an interview with Drake and how the interview shows the five steps in the media literacy process.

The best part of my trip was catching up with my cousins, aunt, and uncle. Family is a big part of me, so I will do it whenever I hang out with family. Atlanta is like home to me. It’s just the feel of the city, fast, slow, and all of the culture there.

Atlanta is also a place where stars reside. Atlanta is also known as Black Hollywood since all the African American celebrities live there. One of my dreams is to live in Atlanta for some time, but I have been going there since I was born. Atlanta has a special place in my heart, and it always will.

If you have never been to Atlanta, you need to go. The experience is like no other. The different cultures and history give the city a unique vibe. Also, the trees in the state of Georgia are just so beautiful and give life to the state.

March Madness

This past week and weekend, I got a chance to watch one of my best friends, Trey Alexander, play in the 2023 NCAA Basketball Tournament. Trey plays for the University of Crieghton. Trey and the Blue Jays went all the way to the Elite 8. They ended up losing to San Diego State 57-56. Trey had a tremendous sophomore season. He averaged 13.1 points per game, 2.3 assists per game, 4.3 rebounds per game, and shot 41.2% from the three. Trey is projected to get drafted in the 2023 NBA Draft, but it is yet to be determined if he will enter his name.

However, Trey and I went to high school together and also played on the team together and played basketball against each other growing up. Trey has also been good at basketball, and everyone knows that. I am happy he is showing the world he is good at basketball. He is also showing everyone he can be a PRO. Another thing that people don’t know is that Trey is a great person, and he always has been. He speaks to everyone when he sees them. Always laughing and having a good time. He is serious when he needs to be. He has all the characteristics you want in a role model or leader.

Trey is doing great things for the state of Oklahoma. He shows that there is talent here in Oklahoma. He also is showing that we can play with the big boys too. I had the pleasure of interviewing Trey on my Super Prep live show in the spring of 2020. He talked about his recruiting process and some of his goals for the future. Well, Trey, you are accomplishing all the goals you talked about one by one.

State Tournament

This past weekend I worked the class 6A and 5A basketball at the Lloyd Noble Center on campus. It was an exciting tournament. A lot of games went down to the wire. Del City won the 5A state championship, and Edmond North won the 6A state championship. Both teams are loaded with talent and have great coaches. Edmond North has the best player in Oklahoma for the class of 2024, and his name is T.O. Barrett. He is a 4-star according to 247 sports and the number one point guard in Oklahoma. Barrett holds offers from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and the University of Missouri.

Another player people need to watch is Edmond North guard Dontrell Yearby Jr. Yeabry is a great player and plays on both sides of the floor with a high motor. Yearby can score from all three levels. He also is a great on ball defender as well.

Edmond North is the premier basketball program in the state, and they are also coming off their second straight State Championship in the second straight year. The program also has a lot of D 1 talent on the team. This Oklahoma program has a very promising future in Oklahoma basketball.
