The OU Black Royalty Pagent is where African American students run for Black King and Queen here at OU, But this year we had to Queens. This was my first OU Black Royalty Pagent, and I enjoyed the experience.

I think everyone should experience this event, no matter what race or ethnicity they are. I think this event is also good for people that are uneducated about black culture and would like to learn more about it.

The event took place last weekend in the student union. The turnout was very good. It was sold out! People were loud and cheering for who they wanted to win.

What I liked the most about the event was how it felt like a family atmosphere; everyone supported one another. People greeted each other like you’ve known them forever.

Life has been going well as of late. I am enjoying my classes at school. Work is going well and picking up. I feel like I am growing every day. I think what has helped me with life is telling myself to take one day at a time and one thing at a time. Doing this allows everything to slow down for me as a whole.

I am the type of person that likes my schedule set in stone. That means no surprises or last-minute things that pop up. I am not saying I cannot adjust to change. I am saying I like things to be in a particular order. Lately, I have noticed that in my life, order is good. Order keeps some people on the straight and narrow, or it does for me.

My social life is excellent. I have a lot of friends, and I think, most importantly, I have made many new friends in the last year. I am very social, and it has always been easy for me to make friends or start conversations with people. Most would say I am a people person even though I do like time to myself too! One of the things I think that is most important in life, media, and business is networking and building relationships. Knowing someone that knows someone is a good thing.
