Overall, I did not really enjoy the movie the Looker. Overall, I thought the plot line was not that good and I didn’t like any of the effects. Although I did not love the movie. I can easily see how it relates to many of the unit 2 text of uncanny doubles. The main character of this story named Dr. Larry Roberts is a top plastic surgeon that is working on many supermodels. As these supermodels or patients start to turn up dead Dr. Roberts start to investigate. The way that I notice that this film relates to the theme of wax figures and creation of automatons is by Dr. Larry Roberts changing the supermodels bodies. During this time, Dr. Roberts is changing woman’s body to create the “perfect” woman. This is very similar to how men would create automatons throughout history to make replicas of women. This movie is also very similar to the text of The Case of Female Mannequins as both are talking about making how many support woman represent underweight or more perfect woman.
