The two sides of Naylor

As we are now in the spooky month of October, there are many major league baseball teams taking the field this year in hopes of a World Series ring. With that, there are many incredible teams that are playing and very special and interesting players playing competing.

The most interesting player that comes to mind is a designated hitter by the name of Josh Naylor. Josh Naylor plays for the Cleveland guardians formerly known as the Cleveland Indian’s. What makes Naylor such a character is that he almost has another identity on and off the field. To me it is almost like a Childish Gambino, Donald Glover situation. When Naylor is off the field one may call him the ultimate human being… he resembles the off field qualities of Ken Griffey Jr.  Although while playing the game he resembles a player like Pete Rose.

On field we will see obscene gestures towards opposing players, opposing fans and the occasional remark to an umpire. In this current series between the New York Yankees, he has hit a home run against Gerrit Cole, called him his son and a baby while trotting the bases. Cole, in a post-game interview was visibly upset by the insult and had some words to say about it. On the other hand, when Naylor is off the field he has been known for donating millions dollars from his salary to charity and always helping the underprivileged. If I were to describe both these people separately you would never have guessed, they are the same person.
