Yo. I became a bartender around a month ago or so, and it’s been quite the experience. I honestly like it a lot because I get to have my own domain to take care of and run, my own responsibilities, and I don’t have to run around the entire restaurant as I did as a server. I’ve been learning tons about mixing tips, bar etiquette, and overall new drinks to make almost every other shift. I’d say I’m doing pretty good so far, and I wanna share a couple of neat drinks you should try next time you go out.

The first drink I’d say is worth trying is an Old Fashioned with Skrewball. It turns a classic cocktail into a dessert drink since Screwball is a peanut butter whiskey. It might not sound appetizing for some but as someone who likes his drinks to be on the chocolaty side of sweet, I’d recommend it.

Another is something I discovered not long ago, and that’s a White Russian, but instead of vodka, use a single pour of Fireball. It’s known as a French Toast White Russian, as the cinnamon whisky and coffee liquor gives it a kind of breakfast-style kick. If you don’t like mixing straight dairy, I suggest skipping it as the third ingredient is half n half. As an alternative, try a Cinnamon Toast Crunch cocktail. Simple as Rumchata and Fireball, but they go down rather easily if you aren’t careful.

The last cocktail for me has to be a Coconut Mojito, which is simply a malibu mojito. Probably the most refreshing of cocktails I’ve ever had.

Learning about different liquors and flavors is the key to finding what you would consider being “your” drink, it might take a while, but think about what flavors you like in your day-to-day life, and ask your bartender what kind of cocktails involve those flavors or something close to it. Tasting drinks is better than reading about drinks for researching this kind of stuff but remember to drink responsibly.
