Hello there! My name is Prairie Kaya- or “PK” for short. Welcome to my blog!
Background:
Born in: Pasadena, California.
Hometown: Kingfisher, Oklahoma.
Areas of Study: Dramaturgy and History
Why I study:
When I listened to my first musical it was as if the world opened up. As I continued exploring plays and literature, it changed forever.
The universe became more hopeful, and housed a multitude of possibilities for connection that I had never before imagined. Theatre became my instrument for processing the universe, and I have been enamored with its inner workings ever since.
The study of history, too, allowed me to learn about the world around me in new, innovative, and inspiring ways. Our planet, our pale blue dot, will face many difficulties in the coming years. The study of history gives me the opportunity to not only learn from the struggles of the past, but to study the moments of kindness and empathy; the ideals that will guide us into the future.
I was first drawn to theatre and history because of their great capacity for generating change, both in others and within myself. They continuously propel my sense of curiosity, empathy, and passion for learning. Through my own projects and connections, I hope to provide the same experience to any who desire a spark of meaning, as well.
