The University of Oklahoma Hispanic American Student Association and Latino Programs & Services held a Kickoff Celebration for Hispanic Heritage Month in the Union Courtyard. As I entered the event area, I was greeted by the mouth-watering aromas of freshly prepared food and the vibrant harmonies of the Mariachi Orgullo De America. While the crowd was serenaded by music, I tried horchata, Agua de Jamaica, and shrimp ceviche for the first time! I was very grateful for the opportunity to learn more about Hispanic culture.
